  1. 17. Sensory Organ - Nose

    The organ which helps us in smelling anything is called nose. The outer part of the nose is known as external nose and the inner one is called nose cave. External Nose : This part is divided into two parts by a wall and they are called nostrils. The inner sides of these walls are covered with mucus. There is a net of tiny blood vessels.

    Male : Testes- are on both sides below the penis in men. They produce sperms and develop genital and manly qualities. Female : Ovaries - These two seed-sized glands in women are located at the top of fallopian tube. They produce estrogens, progesterone hormones. They produce eggs every month and develop feminine qualities. (For example development of breasts, hair).
  3. 18. Sensory Organ - Tongue

    Tongue: The organ which helps us in determining taste is called tongue. The upper layer of the tongue is dry and there are taste buds over it. When anything touches the tongue, taste determining cells in the tongue are stimulated. They send a message, through taste buds, to the taste center in the brain. Tongue plays a vital role of taste as well as it helps in creating sound.
  4. 19. Sensory Organ - Skin

    Skin: All other organs of the body are located at a particular place. They work in a definite field. But the skin has an expanded field. Besides touch, it helps in determining fever, pain, pressure. Hot or cold, light or heavy, rough or smooth etc. are known through the skin. Small areas are spread throughout the skin for this all over the skin.
  5. 20. Endocrine Glands - Pituitary, Pineal

    There are many chemical activities which take place in the body continuously at the same time and many glands produce different chemical agents. The chemical substances produced by glands are made for a particular function. They are called hormones. These liquids are mixed in blood and give stimulation of some kind. They exchange messages among various organs of the body. Small quantity is sufficient to boost acts of the organs.

    3. Thyroid: This gland is located below the vocal cords and spread like the wings of a butterfly on both sides of it.
  7. 22. Endocrine Glands - Para-Thyroid

    Parathyroid: This gland is located above the thyroid gland. The hormone produced by it is called parathormone.
  8. 23. Endocrine Glands - Adrenal

    5. Adrenal Glands : This gland is located above both kidneys like a cap. There are two parts of it. One is cortex in which cortisol hormones are produced. The other part is medulla which produces adrenaline hormone.
  9. 24. Endocrine Glands - Thymus

    6. Thymus Glands : This gland is situated above the wind pipe and below parathyroid glands. This gland works from birth till adolescence. After that it regresses.
  10. 25. Endocrine Glands - Pancreas

    7. Pancreas: This gland does the work of two glands with a tube and without a tube. This gland is located at the back side of abdomen, below the stomach.
